I’m a hockey mom. To three boys. This probably shouldn’t come as a surprise to you given the title of the blog.
As a result I spend a LOT of time in arenas. And a lot less time at home than I would like.
I’m a fire wife.
That means that a pager often determines whether I’m parenting solo or not. No, a volunteer firefighter is not the same as a full time one. But there are still demands and challenges that come from living with the firefighter.
I’m a runner.
Ok, well I used to be a runner. And I’m trying to be one again. More demands on the schedule.
I’m a creative business owner.
My husband suggested that I start a business in the midst of my maternity leave with Boy #3. He knows me well and saw that I needed something creative to balance the black and white of my career as a data geek. You can find the link to our Facebook page on the right.
I’m a crafter.
I’ve scrapbooked and embroidered. I’ve drawn and painted. Right now I quilt and I’m writing. I think these last two will stick. They bring me a peace and a comfort that I haven’t previously felt from what I create.
I’m sure that there are other things I am. I know there are. But these are the big important pieces. These are the chunks I can’t live without and they are the ones that I want to share.
Welcome to my life. People ask how I get everything done and honestly I don’t think I know the answer. But it’s a really fun ride. Grab a seat and hang on with me. I’d love the company.
